Melvyn Caplan

Councillor for Little Venice Ward

Melvyn has lived in the area and has served as a councillor for Little Venice Ward for over 30 years. He has a degree in Economics and is a Qualified Accountant. Prior to retirement, he spent 25 years of his working career as a sales director of IBM and now spends the majority of his week on council activity supporting local residents.

During his long career as a councillor, he has held many Cabinet roles at the council as well as chairing both Planning and Licencing committees. Melvyn says ' it has been my privilege to serve this area for so long and I still enjoy supporting local people and helping to preserve the special character of the Little Venice area.'.

He also serves on the Little Venice neighbourhood police committee. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym and watching most sports.

Dedicated taxi charging point installed in Little Venice

A new dedicated taxi-only rapid electric vehicle charging point has been installed at Warwick Avenue tube station. This is in addition to the 10 electric vehicle charging points installed around Little Venice (on Clifton Villas, Lanark Road, Maida Avenue, Randolph Crescent and Sutherland Avenue).
