Dedicated taxi charging point installed in Little Venice

A new dedicated taxi-only rapid electric vehicle charging point has been installed at Warwick Avenue tube station. This is in addition to the 10 electric vehicle charging points installed around Little Venice (on Clifton Villas, Lanark Road, Maida Avenue, Randolph Crescent and Sutherland Avenue). Installing more electric vehicle charging points is part of Westminster City Council's programme to improve air quality. These measures also include a diesel parking surcharge, a £1m schools clean air fund, retrofitting refuse collection vehicles to be zero emissions and the Marylebone Low Emission Neighbourhood. Labour-run Council belatedly tries to distance itself from the Labour Government’s proposed planning reforms

Westminster Conservatives are delighted that the current Labour council has finally publicly agreed with the Conservative councillors’ position on Angela Rayner’s proposed planning reforms. This Labour Government has proposed completely removing local councillors from the decision-making process on almost all applications. Westminster Conservatives pointed out that this is undemocratic and could undermine public trust in planning decisions back in March.
