Lorraine has lived in Little Venice since 1983 and ran a family electronics business on Edgware Road for 17 years. She now works locally at the City of Westminster college as a teaching assistant to young disabled adults. Lorraine’s interests are education, social services and disability issues.

Lorraine is was first elected as a Councillor for Little Venice in May 2018.

Bike hanger installed in Little Venice

The first bike hanger in Little Venice Ward has been installed in Sutherland Avenue. You can apply for a place for your bicycle here. If the hangar proves popular with residents, additional locations will be considered.

Green Lamp Posts installed in Westminster

Westminster has become the first place in the world to have innovative green lamp posts installed. Six lamp posts have recently been retrofitted along Ebury Street, by the Grosvenor Estate, with green columns incorporating a range of vegetation able to promote biodiversity and improve air quality.

Gully Replacement on Sutherland Avenue

A collapsed main due to a Thames water pipe going through the drain pipe run was discovered on Sutherland Avenue. This has been a persistent issue for some time and was identified to be replaced.

Warkwick Avenue part resurfaced

As we mentioned in an earlier newsletter, your local councillors made a request to resurface Warwick Avenue between Clifton Gardens and Harrow Road. The section between Clifton Gardens and Blomfield Road is now completed with the remaining section to Harrow Road planned for later in the year.

Fly-tipping and dumping

We're cracking down on fly-tipping in Little Venice. The number of penalty notices or warnings issued against deliberate, illegal fly-tippers has increased by 150% since this time last year.
