Councillor for Little Venice Ward

Melvyn has lived in the area and has served as a councillor for Little Venice Ward for over 30 years. He has a degree in Economics and is a Qualified Accountant. Prior to retirement, he spent 25 years of his working career as a sales director of IBM and now spends the majority of his week on council activity supporting local residents.

During his long career as a councillor, he has held many Cabinet roles at the council as well as chairing both Planning and Licencing committees. Melvyn says ' it has been my privilege to serve this area for so long and I still enjoy supporting local people and helping to preserve the special character of the Little Venice area.'.

He also serves on the Little Venice neighbourhood police committee. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym and watching most sports.

We are delighted that three new cycle hangars (Sutherland Avenue, Warwick Avenue and Venice Walk) have been installed in the ward.
Drainage

Drainage Improvements To Reduce Flood Risk

We continue to seek improvements to the drainage infrastructure in the area.  We have managed to get the council to invest in some additional drainage in Warwick Avenue and the works were completed at the end of last month. This will protect residents in both Warwick Avenue and Pindock Mews.

In Little Venice Ward, we already have 87 electric vehicle charging points and a further 4 points were added on Porteus Road earlier this month.

Little Venice Councillors Get Thames Water To Spend £10m On Anti-flooding Devices For Residents

We have been pushing Thames Water hard to do more to support households following the floods last July. We have had some success and finally Thames Water have agreed to spend £10M on Flooding Local Improvement Processes (FLIPs) and Non-Return Valves.

Cllr Green visited Paddington Green last week, where fitness brand Gymshark was organising a recruitment event for its new Regent Street flagship store. ­Gymshark reached out to the Council’s Westminster Employment Service to help recruit as many local residents as possible.

Work to start on affordable homes in Adpar Street
