Our Plan for Westminster

Westminster is a remarkable place to live. Our streets, parks and public spaces are among the finest in the world. I want to keep it that way, and I believe most of you do too.

The Big L&Q survey

For too long, L&Q has been failing residents.Across Pimlico, L&Q tenants are fed up with slow repairs, poor cleanliness and unchecked anti-social behaviour. Above all, they are frustrated by a landlord that is too often unresponsive and unaccountable.

Launching Our Plan for Westminster

Westminster deserves better. After four years of Labour's spiralling crime, dirty streets and reckless waste, that verdict has never been clearer. It is the conviction that has driven everything we have done in opposition, and it is the principle at the heart of the plan we are publishing today. To the people of Westminster: we have listened.

A Greener Westminster

We created the UK's largest on-street EV charging network, introduced the first fully electric refuse fleet and invested over £1 million in CCTV for cleaner, safer streets.

Licensing: Balance & Fairness

Westminster is the largest licensing authority in the country. We will protect residents' quality of life while supporting a vibrant, responsible business environment. We will ensure the Licensing Policy Review provides clarity for operators and robust protection for residents.

Housing That Works for You

Housing is residents' fastest-growing concern. The Council’s own City Survey shows 53% now want the Council to prioritise housing availability, quality and affordability, a jump of 17 percentage points in a single year.

Transport That Works for All

Westminster's streets serve 200,000 residents and over 800,000 daily visitors. Transport policy must work for all of them.Oxford Street: Standing Up for Local PeopleOxford Street is not just a global shopping destination. For many people in Westminster, it is their everyday local high street.
