If you have a postal vote, you should have received it on Saturday. We’re asking local residents to return your postal ballot using all three votes for Melvyn, Lorraine and Matthew to re-elect us on Thursday 5 May.
In Little Venice, we, as your local councillors, work hard for our area. We hear from residents like you how important our commitment is to maintaining our roadways and pavements, greening our area and providing support with planning and licensing issues. Here are some of the things we are proud to have achieved on your behalf over the past four years.
- 87 electric vehicle charging points delivered across the whole of Little Venice including converting all lamp columns on Sutherland Avenue
- Supported local businesses to get government grants and business rate relief during the COVID lockdown
- 156 hanging baskets funded across the ward and new trees planted on Warrington Crescent, John Aird Court, on the Hall Park Estate and Sutherland Avenue
- New pedestrian crossings delivered at Sutherland Avenue/Shirland Road, Warwick Avenue/Blomfield Road and work is underway on a new crossing at the Maida Vale/Blomfield Road junction
- Supported hundreds of affected residents after the July 2021 floods and continuing to lobby Thames Water for compensation, extra flood protection and no-return valves
- Got the Canal and River Trust to improve lighting by the canal and supported canal boat dwellers against anti-social behaviour from casual leisure boats
- Resurfacing on Sutherland Avenue, Howley Place and Park Place and pavement upgrades on Clifton Villas, Bristol Gardens and St. Mary’s Terrace
- New security gates and door entry system for Fleming Court, Crompton, Cuthbert and Hethpool Houses and resurfacing of Fleming Court
- 15 secure bike hangars on Sutherland Avenue, Randolph Road, Warwick Avenue and Venice Walk
- Stood up for residents to prevent skyscraper developments at the Paddington Green police station site, Travis Perkins and Kingdom Street
- Provided funding to a local boxing club that gives kids an alternative to gangs and a basketball club for young adults with special needs, both at the Little Venice Sports Centre
- New drainage gullies for Clifton Gardens, Randolph Road, Sutherland Avenue and Warwick Avenue
- Double yellow lines added at entrance to properties on Porteus Road and Blomfield Road and at the entrances to Stuart Tower and John Aird Court
- New fencing and resurfacing for the sports court at John Aird Court
- Championed affordable housing at Parsons North, West End Gate and under-construction Adpar Street; already secured local lettings for over 20 overcrowded families
- Funded equipment for the senior citizens living at Leonora House
- Helped local businesses by funding Christmas decorations on Clifton Road every year
- Helped housing association tenants on Clifton Villas get a positive result from the Housing Ombudsman and got repairs made to a housing association property on Clifton Gardens
- Supported residents with licensing objections to premises on Clarendon Terrace and Blomfield Road and successfully opposed a 24-hour licensing application on Edgware Road
- In the pandemic, delivered Easter Eggs to those shielding during lockdown and delivered food to doctors and nurses to St. Mary’s Hospital

At the last election, it was a close result in Little Venice and we were only 177 votes ahead of the Labour Party. So, it’s really important that you return your postal vote or get to the polling station on Thursday 5 May, so that we can continue to deliver high-quality, value-for-money services to you and your neighbours.
