Westminster City Council was created by the 1963 London Government Act. Representatives were elected to form the Council the following year, with it assuming its powers in 1965. The Council was Conservative-controlled until the most recent elections in May 2022.
Currently, there are 24 Conservative Party councillors, covering ten of the Council's wards. The other 30 councillors represent the Labour Party.
