Christmas Tree

Your Bryanston & Dorset Square Councillors would like to thank you those of you who attended last Wednesday’s (24th November) lighting up of the Christmas Tree on Wyndham Place. It was an extra special event as last year’s pandemic restrictions prohibited public gatherings.

The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Andrew Smith, was able to join in singing carols as well as leading the countdown for the Christmas Tree lights to come on. The children’s choir from St. Mary’s Primary School filled Wyndham Place with song and our greatly valued youth club, Fourth Feathers, served mulled wine and mince pies.

We were delighted that so many families and familiar faces came out demonstrating our enjoyment of events that bring the community together. PC Lewis Best and PCSO Angeliki Pandi attended throughout the ceremony and ensured our safety. The tree will lend a special focus to Wyndham Place throughout the Christmas season up until New Year’s Twelfth Night.

Any donations towards this event should be made to our Lord Mayor’s chosen charity Westminster Befriend A Family. Find out more about them here.

Labour's record in Westminster: £30 million wasted locally. £100 million stripped nationally.

A Conservative-led review has confirmed £30 million of wasteful spending under the previous Labour administration, including a £27 million liability from a contractor signed off without due diligence and a £3 million overspend awarded to a firm already fined for bid rigging.
