London Zoo opened its doors on Monday 15th June after months of closure and like many organisations has been hit hard by COVID-19 which continues to have a devasting effect on its business.
Your local councillors lobbied for its opening and are supporting its efforts and initiatives to increase not only footfall but revenue with Cllr Robert Rigby speaking at Full Council on 24th June about the plight of the Zoo and the difficulties it faces.
Normally summer is a time when the Zoo has some 13,000 daily visitors with tourists accounting for 40% but with social distancing this has dropped to only 2,000 visitors each day.
