Highway works have started to introduce a pedestrian crossing (Greenman pushbutton), reduce the clutter and improve the streetscape at Prince Albert Road and Avenue Road after your local councillors were contacted by residents who were concerned about pedestrian safety at this busy junction.
The number of personal injury collisions are unacceptably high, so improvements are needed. Local resident David Martin living near-by explains "This is good news. Crossing Prince Albert Road has become more challenging over recent years as the traffic volumes have increased on this road, so we are grateful to Cllr Rigby’s help in making this junction safer for both pedestrians and cyclists alike."
