Planting of trees around Marylebone is constrained by utilities and cables running under the pavement. To overcome this issue planters are an alternative. Your Councillors have found funding for the greening using planters at the following locations:
- Corner of York Street / Seymour Place – in front of lamp column, avoiding service cover
- Bryanston Square – where recycling bins were previously located.
- South of Montagu Square on George Street – in line with existing street furniture
- Rossmore Road – at top of the stairs leading down to Boston and Taunton Place
- Glentworth & Melcombe Street – on 3 of 4 corners, where buildouts are located
Maintenance for the planters has been secured for a period of five years. In addition, to commemorate the Queen’s jubilee, a tree has been planted on Bryanston Square. More details about the commemoration will follow soon.
