A COVID-19 booster vaccine dose helps improve the protection you have from your first two doses of the vaccine. It helps give you longer-term protection against getting seriously ill from COVID.
Booster vaccine doses are now available on the NHS for people most at risk from COVID who have had a second dose of a vaccine at least six months ago.
Find out more about who qualifies to receive a COVID booster vaccine dose here.
People who fit into one of the following categories are now able to book their booster vaccine online:
- Frontline health or social care workers – you do not need to wait for an invite.
- People aged 50 and over and the NHS has invited you to book.
- People aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts you at high risk from COVID-19 and the NHS has invited you to book.
If you fit into any of these three you can now book your booster vaccine dose online here.
If you have any concerns about receiving a booster jab speak to your GP.
