Ian Rowley

Councillor for Marylebone Ward

Ian Rowley has lived in Marylebone for 28 years with his wife. He has been a Councillor since 2007 and has a PhD in financial economics from the London Business School. In the Conservative administration he chaired the council’s Audit and Performance Committee and sat on scrutiny committees and various operational boards. He also chaired the Conservative group’s backbench group. He currently sits on the Audit & Performance Committee and the Budget Scrutiny Task Group.

Ian’s professional background is in investment management. Ian is involved in supporting the arts, having chaired the charity and education committee of the Worshipful Company of Painter Stainers, where he was recently Upper Warden.

He can often be seen being walked by Becky, his Italian Greyhound. During COVID he coordinated thousands of phone calls to local people.
