Westminster Times headline: Search launched for couple to have wedding ceremony on film at Old Marylebone Town Hall

Couples have until 11.59pm on Sunday 15 November to enter a competition to win their whole wedding day at Old Marylebone Town Hall, Cllr Robert Rigby, Westminster City Council’s Cabinet Member for Resident Services and Civic Pride, has told the Westminster Times. The winners will marry in the Town Hall’s Westminster Room next April, with cameras following every moment of the day.

Old Marylebone Town Hall is one of London’s best-known wedding venues. Paul McCartney has married there twice, Ringo Starr married Barbara Bach there in 1981, and Dua Lipa and Callum Turner married there in May. Westminster’s registrars marry some 3,000 couples every year.

The prize, from the council’s A Day To Remember wedding service, includes a ceremony for up to 100 guests in the Westminster Room on Tuesday 13 April 2027, a suite at The Landmark across Marylebone Road the night before with a second room for the wedding party, photographers, and prosecco and canapés for the guests. In return, the couple’s day becomes the centrepiece of A Day To Remember: The Film, from getting ready and exchanging vows to the first toast and the confetti photo on the Town Hall’s famous front steps.

Cllr Rigby said: “The Old Marylebone Town Hall has seen more than its fair share of unforgettable love stories, and now we’re looking for the next one.

“Weddings are also an important part of what makes Westminster such a special destination, bringing people into the city and supporting our fantastic hotels, restaurants and local businesses. So if you’ve found your person, you’ve got a story to tell, get your entry in.”

How to enter

Tell the team how you met and why you want to marry at Old Marylebone Town Hall by 11.59pm on Sunday 15 November. Shortlisted couples will hear by Monday 23 November and will be asked for a short video about how they got engaged. The winners will be announced on New Year’s Day.

Both partners must be 18 or over, live in the UK and be legally free to marry or form a civil partnership in England and Wales.
