Cllr Paul Swaddle OBE, Leader of Westminster City Council, joined the Veolia street cleaning team on 2 October to remove graffiti, delivering on one of the key promises Westminster Conservatives made at May's election: a clean city.
Alongside Cllr Tim Mitchell, Cabinet Member for City Management, Paul jet-washed tags off brickwork, scrubbed graffiti from a fire exit door and painted over what was left.
He also set out the standard residents can expect. Offensive graffiti is cleared within 12 hours of being reported, and 94% of all graffiti is cleared within three days.
“I'm out here with the Veolia team delivering on one of our key promises at the last election, and that's to deliver a clean city,” said Cllr Swaddle.
“I've been working with the team to remove the graffiti and ensure that we are clearing up all graffiti that is offensive within 12 hours of it being reported, and 94% of all graffiti within three days.”
Spotted graffiti? Report it to Westminster City Council so the team can clear it.
