From motorbike noise to a new museum: West End councillors meet residents in Soho and Mayfair

West End councillors Tim Barnes and Elizabeth Amos met residents in Soho and Mayfair on Saturday 3 October at their monthly ward surgeries.

Residents raised motorbike noise in Soho, planning issues involving both the council and a developer, general crime concerns, a potential new museum in Mayfair and noise from local properties. Many reported progress on issues they had raised at earlier surgeries, and one resident came simply to thank the councillors for their work.

Cllr Tim Barnes said:

"It's a full range of issues, and I'm delighted that many of the people who've been to see us this week have been able to report progress. And in particular, one guy who came, not to raise an issue, but just to say thanks for the work that we've done."

Cllr Elizabeth Amos said:

"Surgeries take place on the first Saturday of the month. We meet at Sacred Grounds Cafe at St Anne's Church in Soho at ten, and then we're at the Mayfair Library at eleven thirty. So if you have a ward issue, please do come and see us in person."

Next surgery: Saturday 7 November

  • 10am: Sacred Grounds café, St Anne's Church, 55 Dean Street, Soho, W1D 6AF
  • 11.30am: Mayfair Library, 25 South Audley Street, W1K 2PB
  • Surgeries are free and there's no need to book. They run on the first Saturday of every month.
