Christabel Flight has been a Westminster resident for 26 years, 16 of which she served as the Conservative councillor for Pimlico North. On taking office, she was made the Older People’s Champion for Westminster and organised the first free Tea Dance at the Grosvenor on Park Lane - an event now in its 18th year.
She went on to launch Westminster Plus, a magazine distributed to all Westminster residents holding a Freedom Pass, and 12 years ago founded Silver Sunday - a national day on the first Sunday in October celebrating older people. Last year, over 2,000 Silver Sunday events were held nationally, 70 of them in Westminster.
