Swaddle Speaks Up

When Labour was elected in they made promise after promise to the people of Westminster. They promised everything to everyone, but how are they doing on delivery?

In a little over a week, Labour-run Westminster City Council will be setting their budget. They will increase council tax by the maximum allowed. They will increase council house rents by the maximum allowed. They will spend tens of millions on all sorts of projects, some desired by residents but far too many are pet projects driven by an ideology of "Labour knows best".

One of their big promises was the appoint Independent Panel to review Council expenditure. So how is that going? Have they done it? No. Have they started the process? No. It is only through a thorough review will money be target properly and value for money assured.

We need a change at Westminster. We need to see spending priorities align with the needs of Westminster residents, not spent on pet projects. I promise that if we are elected in May next year, we will do that.

At next month's Budget Council meeting we will bring forward ideas to try and align with your real priorities and deliver value for money. We know Labour won’t listen, they never do in Westminster. Just look at the endless consultations they ignore.

We need your help, where do you see Westminster Council wasting your money?Where should they be spending your money? Let us know so we can better stand up for everyone who lives in Westminster.

PS To win elections we also need to raise money to fund those elections – if you can help click here to find out how we would spend a donation.
