Local councillors Tim Barnes and Paul Fisher are proud to represent people living in the West End on Westminster City Council.
The West End is a special place with pubs, bars, restaurants, shops, theatres and cinemas that attract visitors from all over the world. These hospitality businesses are critical to the energy that drew so many of us to live here and keep us here. However, many of them are now facing real difficulties, and some are facing closure. At the same time, they also contribute to issues such as noise, crime and anti-social behaviour.
The West End is four dynamic villages - Fitzrovia, Mayfair, South Marylebone and Soho - each with its own identity but all within walking distance of all the attractions of the wider West End. Securing the future of our vibrant community means striking the right balance between world-leading businesses and entertainment venues on the one hand, and residents on the other.
So, where does the balance need to be?
Business and residents combine to make the area what it is today. Ensuring the Council strikes the right balance means understanding what residents love about living here and what they would like to see changed.
So, we are asking you to tell us about your views – what’s working and what needs to change.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views with us.
