We caught up with the Leader of the Conservative Group at Westminster Council, Paul Swaddle.

On his way to work, Paul explains,

"At the next council meeting, we'll be debating dockless bikes and how they need to be fixed across the city.

"This Labour administration are running a terrible scheme, but we do need a scheme that works for everyone.

"Now I'm off to cycle to work."

Dockless bikes’ parking chaos

Despite reassurances from the Labour-led Council, dockless bikes continue to run riot and block streets and pavements across the city. The council has introduced new parking spaces for dockless bikes and e-scooters last year, but it is clear the scheme is not working.

On Tuesday, the Deputy Mayor of London announced that Sadiq Khan would be taking over Oxford Street early, with Transport for London designated as the traffic authority for the street. It was clear by the nature of the announcement that Westminster City Council were not prepared for this.
