We spoke with Cllr Paul Swaddle, the new Leader of the Conservative Group at Westminster City Council, about his priorities.

Paul explains,

"As Leader of the Conservatives on Westminster City Council, I and my team will be holding the Labour administration to account.

"They talk of a fairer Westminster, but it's not the reality for most of our residents.

"Listening to you right across Westminster, we know that Labour are not focused on your priorities.

"We are.

"You're concerned about increases in crime and anti-social behaviour and the lack of street presence from our police.

"You want to see clean streets, but you tell us things are getting worse under Labour.

"You want a transport system that is good for the environment, clean and works for everyone. But our streets are blocked by e-bikes and they're increasing parking charges for the cleanest of vehicles.

"You tell us that people are struggling with the cost of living due to the war in Ukraine.

"The council is looking to hike council tax, something that is simply not needed.

"I hope you will join with us to make sure that Westminster is truly a city for all."
