Many angry local people have been in touch to complain about the frequent closures of Lancaster Gate Tube station.

We caught up with Felicity Buchan MP, alongside West Central London's Assembly Member Tony Devenish and Lancaster Gate Councillor Laila Cunningham, in front of the station.

Felicity Buchan has launched a petition calling on Sadiq Khan to keep Lancaster Gate and Holland Park Tube Stations open.

Felicity explained,

"I'm here outside Lancaster Gate Tube Station.

Lancaster Gate, along with Holland Park Tube Stations, are being closed sporadically because of staff shortages.

This is just not good enough.

Sadiq Khan: keep our tube stations open.

And please do sign my petition.

Laila Cunningham said,

"I'm the local Councillor here and so many residents have reached out to me and said it's unacceptable.

They can't get to work, they can't get their kids to school.

And, you know, if we're going to get any growth, we need tourists to come.

They can't get to the hotels and it's just a bad look that the tube station cannot be open.

Sadiq Khan, we need it open all the time regularly and a dependable service."

West Central London Assembly Member Tony Devenish concludes

"Come on Sadiq Khan. Pull your finger out!"

Help hold Westminster's Labour Council to account

Monday, 18 August, 2025
At Full Council meetings, members of the public have a unique opportunity to directly question the Labour administration on issues that matter most to you. We've observed a concerning trend: a tendency to fill these vital public slots with pre-arranged, 'easy' questions. This silences the genuine concerns of our community. That's why we need your help to ensure real issues are heard.
