Your local Conservative Councillors are very concerned to hear about plans to relocate the street cleaning depot from council’s offices at 215 Lisson Grove to Harewood Avenue, to the Blandford Estate by the 4 Feathers Youth Centre.
It will involve not only street sweepers accessing through the estate but also refuse vehicles to clear the site.
The depot would cover Lisson Grove, St John’s & North Marylebone and operate 7 days a week with two shifts per day starting and be in operation from very early in the morning. There would be a 26 tonne EV to collect the waste bags once per day, entering from Harewood Ave.
We feel this proposed location is totally unsuitable because of its potential effect on the amenity of residents in Harewood Avenue and Blandford Estate and the youths visiting the 4 Feathers. There would be noise, disturbance, and air quality issues. Planning consent will be required, and we will be registering the strongest objection.
