Mid-June saw the opening of the newly refurbished garden "Lemon Pip Garden" at the Abbey Centre in Great Smith Street SW1, which is in St James's ward.
The community centre serves people across SW1 and beyond. This garden in the courtyard behind the building is run by the community for the community, with accessible planters and seating areas under the branches of 30-year-old lemon trees.
Cllr Tim Mitchell says: "It has been my privilege to serve on the board of the Abbey Centre for over 20 years. I am proud that, as the needs of people in the area changes, the Centre is constantly adapting the services it provides to residents of all ages."
Their Community Pantry service was launched with a contribution from St. James's ward councillors.
