We spoke with Laila Dupuy, community activist and 2022 local Council candidate, at one of the council's recycling cetnres. Laila explains the importance of recycling to her, and to her Conservative colleagues.

Hi, I'm at one of Westminster's recycling centres and we take recycling very seriously, we take the environment seriously and we want to be known as a green council. 

That's why we're rolling out a food recycling programme.

Hands Off Oxford Street!

On Tuesday, the Deputy Mayor of London announced that Sadiq Khan would be taking over Oxford Street early, with Transport for London designated as the traffic authority for the street. It was clear by the nature of the announcement that Westminster City Council were not prepared for this.
