We caught up with local community activist and council candidate Laila Dupuy, out in Lancaster Gate with Two Cities' MP Nickie Aiken.
Laila says,
Hi. I'm out in Lancaster Gate ward today to talk to residents about anti-social behaviour and crime. I'm with the local MP Nickie Aiken so she can also speak and see for herself what's been going on.
Nickie says,
And it's really, really interesting when you speak to local people how important it is to have police on the street.
I will be taking this issue up with the Borough Commander to make sure that Safer Neighbourhood Teams are out, visible and preventing crime.
And that's why I am delighted that the Government has introduced 20,000 new police officers. But we have to see them and we must take a zero-tolerance approach to crime and anti-social behaviour.
