Paddington Recreation Ground

A number of residents have been in touch to share near misses they've had with cyclists in Paddington Recreation Ground. One told us about being caught in-between a runner, pram and oncoming scooter user with only the grass to go to for safety!

We are in conversation with the Cabinet Member for Environment and City Management about launching a petition to introduce ‘Cyclists Dismount’ signs.

2022 candidate Jan Prendergast said: “We are interested in what our local residents think, so do let us know your thoughts on whether we should consider starting this petition.”

Labour cut 1,000 police officers in London, breaking their promise to keep our streets safe

Monday, 25 August, 2025
Labour’s decisions are making our streets here in Westminster less safe. In just one year, new figures show that London has lost over 1,000 police officers - and that includes officers taken off our streets here in Westminster. Across the country, Sir Keir Starmer has left our police forces with a £350 million funding black hole, forcing cuts and slashing recruitment by 17%. That means fewer neighbourhood officers, slower response times, and overstretched teams who are being asked to do more with less. Forcing our police to pick and choose which crimes they respond to is simply unacceptable.
