Our libraries and archives are a service that everyone in Westminster can be immensely proud of and are available across thirteen sites from Paddington to Pimlico.
Some recent media reports that we are looking to close library sites are untrue.
In fact, we are investing heavily in the fabric of our library buildings with two new library facilities in the north of Westminster, at Seymour and Church Street, as well as a planned refurbishment of Paddington Library, among other developments already underway.
Our online events programme regularly attracts hundreds of residents to learn about topics from classical music to James Bond’s tailoring and we now offer some 40,000 books via your laptop or phone so you can read and learn wherever you are - and it’s all free for people living in Westminster!
Overall, Westminster City Council invests more money in its libraries per person than any other council in the country. We intend to keep our libraries operating as one of the best services anywhere.
