Raids on unsafe retailers

In another joint operation with the police in Westminster, which also involved HMRC and Immigration officers, has resulted in 11,000 items being confiscated including unsafe toys, counterfeit goods, nicotine products from shops on Oxford Street.

Additional foodstuffs were seized, including some which contained over the legal limit of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which were seized under the Psychoactive Substances Act.

Operation is part of a city-wide effort to protect shoppers in Westminster, in the run up to Christmas. There have also recently been similarly successful raids on Edgware Road.
