As well as receiving a COVID-19 booster, many adults and most children will be eligible for a flu vaccine this winter.
The NHS advises that those eligible to receive a jab book an appointment as soon as possible. The flu vaccine is particularly important this year because:
- More people are likely to get flu this winter as fewer people will have built up natural immunity to it during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- If you get flu and COVID-19 at the same time, research shows you're more likely to be seriously ill.
- Getting vaccinated against flu and COVID-19 will provide protection for you and those around you for both these serious illnesses.
Join Westminster City Council Cabinet Member for Housing, David Harvey in getting the jab. Find out more about the flu jab here.
If you have had COVID-19, it is safe to have your flu vaccine. It is also safe to receive your flu vaccine at the same time as a COVID-19 vaccine.
