Lord’s Compton & Edrich stands redevelopment update

Lords Redevelopment

As local people will know, the redevelopment of the Compton and Edrich stands at Lord’s started back in August. In December, ISG Construction discovered pre-existing damage to a major water sewer which traversed the site, and required significant remedial repair works.

With this essential additional work, to ensure that the stands will be ready for the first major match of the season, an application was submitted to Westminster City Council requesting extended weekend hours.

In an unusual move and one we would not normally contemplate, the Council has approved the application for work hours to be extended from 15th February through to 29th May 2020.

The approved revised working hours are Monday – Friday up to 8pm (restricted to non-noisy work or audible at the boundary), Saturday 1pm – 6pm & Sunday 10am – 6pm.  Conditions around noise monitoring and reduced disruption remain very much in place.

Robert Ebdon MCC Assistant Secretary (Estates & Ground Development) said “we are grateful to the local Councillors, St John’s Wood Society and local residents for their support in what we know is a most unusual planning request. These additional hours of work will allow us to deliver the first phase of the new stands for the first Test Match and T20 matches of the season, ensuring an enjoyable experience for our visitors at Lord’s this summer.”

If local people have any issues during these extended construction hours please contact Francis Egan, Senior Construction Manager, ISG [email protected] 07971 764507 or alternatively contact Paul, Robert or Gotz.

Labour is reckless with your money and weak with your safety

Labour is being careless with your money and failing on crime

Monday, 9 March, 2026
At Labour’s Westminster City Council budget last week, I made Westminster Labour answer for their reckless spending and weak action on rising crime and declining street standards. Westminster Labour has wasted £27 million on a failed housing contractor, self-awarded senior Labour councillors pay rises of up to 62 per cent and are projected to hike your Council Tax by 75 per cent over the next four years.
