Unauthorised decking outside The Ivy

The Ivy

Your local councillors were alerted by local people to the unauthorised decking that was installed outside The Ivy on the High Street during the May bank holiday weekend. Such a seating platform does not allow proper pavement cleaning and detracts from the character of a listed building on the High Street as well as narrowing the pavement so by causing congestion for pedestrians. We took steps and it was removed in June although currently a planning application is being considered.
