We want to make Westminster one of the most cycle friendly parts of the capital. Not only is it good for your heath, getting pollutant traffic off our streets is one of the main ways we’re going to improve air quality.
However, we also want to make sure cycling in Westminster is safe for all road users. This is why Conservative run Westminster is rolling out 'quietway' schemes across the city. These are designed to create a safer network of routes across the city by using quieter roads.
We are also just about to install 14 cycle hangars across the borough to provide secure bicycle parking for residents. Spaces will be available to rent to all residents on a first come first served basis.
Westminster City Council also hosts regular Dr Bike cycle maintenance sessions across the city and free cycle training is available to all residents and visitors to Westminster. Most of the primary schools are already signed up but everyone else can apply for free cycle training courses.
