Royal Parks Movement Strategy – Stop Potential Regent’s Park Gate Closures!

Macclesfield Bridge

The Royal Parks are running a consultation on the movement of vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians into and out of their parks including Regent’s Park.

A potential outcome could be the closure of gates into Regent’s Park which could result in the displacement of traffic into the streets of St John’s Wood and surrounding area, increasing rat running and harming air quality.

You may recall the proposal to introduce a Cycle Superhighway (CS-11) a few years ago which would have seen gates being closed into Regent’s Park. Your local Councillors and Westminster Council successfully fought this off.  The Royal Parks ‘Movement Strategy’ could result in the proposal to close gates being resurrected and the revival of CS-11.

For these reasons, as your local Councillors we are running a petition opposing the potential Gate closures. If you agree with us you can sign the petition below.

Show your opposition to the Gate closures by signing our petition today.

We would also encourage you to complete a survey on the issue being run by the Royal Parks before the closing date of 14th July 2019. The survey can be found at www.royalparks.org.uk/movement. Alternatively you can write a response and send it to [email protected].
