Siddons Lane

The Bryanston and Dorset Square Ward Councillors have contributed towards the target of planting 3,000 trees in Westminster by the end of 2020, by securing funds from the Council and liaising with The Portman Estate. The Ward has also benefited from additional tree planting as part of the Baker Street 2 Way project.

For anyone who would like to attend, there is a tree planting ceremony at 11.30am on Friday 10th May 2019 with Mark Field MP and The Portman Estate on George Street between Montagu Square and Gloucester Place – every tree counts!

BBC London: Westminster Council calls on the Mayor to support Soho businesses

Tuesday, 11 August, 2026
Cllr Tim Barnes explains that just two Westminster wards, West End and St James's, account for 26% of all "small crime" across the whole of London, which he says is exactly why some regulation of venues is necessary. He again pointed to the Mayor's record on transport as the bigger barrier to a good night out, saying Sadiq Khan "keeps cutting the night buses and won't bring in a late-night tube service on Thursdays."
