The first ever 3D Zebra crossing installed in the UK has made its debut in Regent’s Park Ward. The 3D artwork gives the illusion that the white stripes are floating above the ground and is designed to slow drivers down as they approach the crossing. This unique crossing has been installed as part of a 12 month trial following concerns raised by the NW8Mums, Barrow Hill Junior School and local residents about road safety.
David Tomlinson, Headteacher at Barrow Hill said: ‘We’re pleased the Council has listened to our concerns and I would like to thank our local councillors for getting this crossing installed which will provide a safe point for our school children crossing the High Street.’
