In January the Council approved a planning application from Lord’s to rebuild the Compton and Edrich stands, located at the eastern side of the ground.

The MCC had gone to great lengths to engage with the local community sending out over 2300 letters. Overall your local councillors were supportive of this application with Cllr Rigby making representation asking the committee to ensure during the construction a robust Code of Construction Practice is put in place to minimise the disruption caused by the build due to start at the end of August 2019 pending MCC member approval at their AGM in May.

And once constructed Cllr Rigby asked the enhanced employment opportunities resulting from this new stand went to Westminster residents with particular emphasis on apprenticeships.
