Cllr Jacqui Wilkinson, Deputy Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Education and Skills, has visited the new Bessborough Family Hub in Lupus Street, which is providing a wide range of support both for families and children up to the age of 19.
Cllr Wilkinson explains “I wanted to see what was being provided for local people and was amazed by the breadth of the services including pre-natal, child development, parenting support, mental health, play activities, health, housing advice and art therapy." The hub also provides a base for specialists such as health visitors and social workers.
