Meeting

The Council announced the decision to close CityWest Homes and bring the Council’s housing in-house on 20th September 2018. It will come back in-house on 1st April 2019. In preparation for the new regime, Westminster City Council has launched a listening programme so that tenants and leaseholders can communicate their views to the Council in person or online. This month and next month Council officers will meet residents and their representatives in order to hear their views about the housing customer service, and how it could be improved. Andrew Smith, the Cabinet Member for Housing Services wants to hear the views of as many residents as possible. He is keen to provide a service that puts the residents at its heart.

As part of the Listening Programme, there will be a public meeting in Porchester Hall, Porchester Road, W2 5HS from 5pm-7pm on 11th February.

Open Door Event

In December City West Homes held two ‘Open Door’ events. One was in Lisson Green and the other was in Pimlico. The point of the meetings was for residents to meet the organisations who provide the services, including the repairs contractor Morgan Sindell. The Council also attended the events.

Paul Swaddle: "The Government's Fairer Funding Review is stripping hundreds of millions of pounds out of London councils, including here in Westminster. Andy Burnham needs to explain why Londoners, who already pay some of the highest taxes and housing costs in the country, are being asked to subsidise a political fix elsewhere."
