Should we introduce more 20 mph zones in Little Venice Ward?

20 mph

There is some evidence from elsewhere in the UK that a lower speed limit only changes behaviour if it is done in selected areas as opposed to across entire districts, which is why initially Westminster has introduced 20 mph zones mostly around schools as opposed to across the whole city. Only the police can enforce speed limits and issues fines or penalty points and we continue to press them to enforce the current limits whether they are 20mph or 30mph.

Councillor Melvyn Caplan said: “We are interested in what our local residents think, so do let us know your thoughts on whether we should consider decreasing the speed limit to 20 mph on additional roads or not.”
