Creating additional kerbside parking and reducing parking noise issues in Allsop Place

When residents contacted your councillors about parking issues in Allsop Place we arranged to meet officers on site. The issues concerned noise and idling in Pay by Phone bays behind Chalfont Court which affected the amenity of residents living in this mansion block and the need for more resident parking spaces. Following a successful consultation a number of changes were made which saw an increase in parking provision in the area together with switching the change of use of a number of bays.

One local person commented ‘Thank you to Cllr Rigby for his help in orchestrating these changes which have already made a significant improvement to resident’s quality of life in Chalfont Court’.

Labour-run Council belatedly tries to distance itself from the Labour Government’s proposed planning reforms

Westminster Conservatives are delighted that the current Labour council has finally publicly agreed with the Conservative councillors’ position on Angela Rayner’s proposed planning reforms. This Labour Government has proposed completely removing local councillors from the decision-making process on almost all applications. Westminster Conservatives pointed out that this is undemocratic and could undermine public trust in planning decisions back in March.
