Improving care at home when you need it

We want to make sure all our elderly get the best care possible. Westminster City Council set up a new team earlier this year to work both with organisations providing care for people at home, and with residential care homes. The aim was to improve quality of care and the work is beginning to show results.

Two organisations providing care at home (Bluebird Care and the Westminster Society) have been rated recently as “Outstanding” - meaning they are giving the highest standard of care possible. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) rates all our care homes, home care organisations, hospitals and NHS general practices. The CQC publishes these ratings so you can always find out what the standards are.
