Westminster Council backing residents with CS-11 judicial review

CS-11

Cycle Superhighway 11 (CS-11), which will potentially see a cycle route from Swiss Cottage to the West End via Regent’s Park, remains controversial with works on the first part of the scheme at Swiss Cottage due to start in July. Our residents in St John’s Wood overwhelmingly oppose CS-11 primarily because of the effect it will have on traffic displacement and the impact on air quality in the streets adjacent to the route.

Robert, Paul and Gotz support the provision of safe cycling throughout Westminster but it must not come at a price which sees added congestion and poorer air quality. Despite our best efforts over the last two years, we have yet to receive from Transport for London (TfL) any further information about the wider impact of the scheme and how these maybe mitigated.

Your Councillors are once again backing our residents and the Council are now seeking a judicial review to halt this scheme until TfL answer residents’ concerns.
