On Sunday 1st July, your Warwick Ward Councillors joined residents from across Westminster for the 2nd #My Westminster day, which was held at Paddington Recreation Ground. This event was devised by Cllr Nickie Aiken as Leader of the Council to bring together people from different backgrounds to celebrate the diversity of Westminster and showcase the best of our neighbourhoods. Westminster City Council Deputy Leader and Vincent Square Councillor David Harvey welcomed those attending and Warwick Ward’s Cllr Christabel Flight joined him as Deputy Lord Mayor.
Well over a thousand residents came to enjoy the day of food, music, dancing, crafts and sporting activities. It was a great to see so many Pimlico residents making the trip up to north Westminster to enjoy the day, which was supported by local community and voluntary organisations.
Cllr Nickie Aiken said: “I am delighted about the turn-out for this event. We had a wide-ranging list of activities for residents to enjoy and enable them to take pride in our wonderful City.”
