An inner City borough like Westminster may not seem like an obvious place for healthy lifestyles. However, the facts definitively show that Westminster, and indeed Little Venice, is a healthy place to live. The most recent data from the Office for National Statistics show that the life expectancy in Little Venice is 84.5 years, This compares with 83.8 years for Westminster, 82.1 years for London and 81.3 years for the whole of England.
Cllr. Barbara Arzymanow says, “Your Councillors are mindful that we must not become complacent and are constantly on the lookout for ways to offer residents opportunities to improve their lifestyles.” In the areas of physical fitness Little Venice offers the Sports Club on Crompton Street which provides a gateway to the Everyone Active network of facilities. We also continue to keep an eye on the inner city issues that potentially affect all wards such as poor air quality caused by traffic pollution, engine idling and diesel emissions.
