The issue of scooters illegally parking on Garway Road has been raised by residents and we have taken swift action to ensure the parking ceases.
Following the reports Councillor Richard Holloway contacted the Cabinet Member for Sustainability and Parking (Councillor Heather Acton) and as a result the area is now on Westminster Council’s Special Enforcement programme, with marshals visiting the area during controlled hours. In addition, we have ensured that officers meet with the business owner of the scooters thus Thursday to discuss a longer term workable solution. Officers will be looking at commercial car park possibilities as well as strict enforcement options.
This is an issue that is cropping up across the city and your Conservative Councillors are looking at options for a city wide solution to ensure illegal parking by scooters does not cause trouble on our streets.
