Zebra Crossing fixed to help pedestrian safety

Pedestrian safety is paramount, so we moved swiftly to have fixed an amber-coloured globe lamp (Belisha beacon) which had gone missing on the busy St John’s Wood High Street and Prince Albert Road zebra crossing.  

Local people may be interested to know it is called a Belisha beacon named after Leslie Hore-Belisha who as Minister of Transport back in the 1930’s added these beacons to pedestrian crossing to provide additional visibility at night.
