We caught up with community activist and 2022 local election candidate Zaheed Nizar as he discussed Hyde Park's 3D pedestrian crossing with Cllr Antonia Cox.

Zaheed asks

Well, Antonia, this is an interesting zebra crossing, what's the story behind that?

Antonia explains

Well, this is something that we were very pleased to spend ward budget money on.

What you have to do to really appreciate it is to be driving towards the pedestrian crossing and then you'll see these blocks seemingly rise up out of the ground.

And it really makes you slow down as a driver and they've been proved to be very effective and that's improving pedestrian safety in this whole area
