Whilst raising parking charges for EVs by 1800%, Labour council admits having no data on congestion!

In December, despite not having any data for congestion on the streets of Westminster, the Labour administration pushed ahead with the decision to increase parking charges under the pretence that it was to reduce congestion rather than a stealth tax to raise millions of pounds for the council.

When questioned this week at a council meeting, the Labour administration brazenly admitted that they still had no congestion data.

The charges on electric vehicles will increase by up to 1800%.

At the meeting of Westminster City Council on Wednesday, 24 January, Cllr Ed Pitt Ford asked the cabinet member what proportion of people rejecting the parking charge increases would persuade the cabinet member to change his decision to increase charges.

The cabinet member failed to give a figure stating that the consultation was not a referendum.
