Rough Sleeping

“While many rough sleepers have come in for help in this last year, supported by the Council and its charity partners, there is still a hardened and sad street population”, says Cllr Selina Short, “we know that drug dealers and criminals are targeting this vulnerable group."

"We have asked for and been promised extra police resources. We have also secured funding for security at local halfway house hostels.”

If you want to help a rough sleeper, call Street Link 0300 500 0914 to get help from local support charities and council experts. The police need more intelligence to focus on the problem side of rough sleeping and you can report here.

This data gives our local teams the power to get extra resource. But use 999 for an emergency.
